My beloved Volvo Inscription C70 was totalled last week, and have been trying to replace it.

Unfortunately there aren't any in the Pacific Northwest, and we were only able to find one in Florida. The dealer is charing $2144 to ship, which seems kind of high.

You kind folks on Opposite Lock were so good at helping put me in my original, and now I'm looking for good referrals on shippers, to see if he's out to lunch on shipping and we should just arrange it ourselves.

Thanks in advance!

Fly out and drive it back. Might be cheapest. FL to the Pacific NW is a long haul and most "good" shippers will still be pricey.

PDX to MCO looks like $369 on United.

We've been throwing around that idea. I've always wanted to see Mt. Rushmore.

If it's a new-ish and reliable car (sounds like it is) and it is as described it may be your best bet.

Just might need to get an oil change right when you get home :)

I wouldn't suggest going the cheap route with shippers, you get what you pay for. I've seen more than my fair share of damage from them. I would go with a company that specializes in closed carrier transport for classics and exotics. That price seems about right for something like that. However, if it's just your standard open trailer, HELLL NAAAHHH!!!!

Fly and drive would be fun though.

That is a nice looking car. I've driven a 90s C70 and really liked it. Good luck.

I'm not the one who originally posted, however, the C70 is a nice car.

The 90's C70 coupe looks great.

I loved it, and was planning on keeping it for a long time.

I can't believe I'm contemplating doing that, but it is a GREAT touring car, and there are lots of routes to see cool things :)

Nobody hurt? And it's a good thing you were in that car - very safe. Airbags deploy?

Hey, if you love the car, that's enough. And it sure seems like you do. Finding a car you love can be just as hard as finding a life partner, when you do you don't let go. Actually finding my wife was easier than finding a car I don't want to let go, because I still haven't.

There are none in Seattle?

Nope. Nothing in the Pacific Northwest.

I have the staff at Auto Nation Volvo trying to track one down, but only 500 were brought to North America.

My husband is in physical therapy for neck and back, but nothing serious. The side airbags went off, he was t-boned by a semi truck with two full trailers.

That car likely saved his life. I have said many times - get the most safety you can afford.

We don't have dual trailers in NY. And glad of it.
